Moving Tips

Here are just a few of our handy tips to help get you prepared for the big day, to make your move more efficient and save you stress, time and of course money! If you have a very large home or need further assistance, please contact us to arrange a home visit.

• Ensure that all fragile items are wrapped in newspaper or bubble wrap, packed well into boxes and marked ‘Fragile’

• Label boxes with rooms as they need to go into the new house

• Dismantle heavy and large items where possible

• Think carefully about where your furniture and other items need to go in the new house and mark if possible

• Clean out and pack up garages, sheds to ensure there are no loose items remaining on moving day

• Think about pets; perhaps have them locked in a room already emptied prior to the removal team arriving to reduce stress

• Empty your fridge but leave it ON until we arrive; freezer items can potentially be left in the freezer depending on the length of the move

• Turn off and unplug all other electrical appliances

• Don’t water house plants for at least 24 hours prior to move
